Role:

 

Under Pharmacist supervision, the Pharmacy Order Entry LPN is responsible for accurately entering physician/prescriber orders into the system in order to maintain a complete medication record.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Current LPN licensure in Florida or current licensure from another state plus a temporary Florida permit

  • 6 months experience as a LPN or medical office work

  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance per Company policy

  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in English

  • Flexible schedule to meet the needs of Pharmacy Department

  • Reliable transportation to meet Pharmacy schedule

  • Ability to use equipment and software within the department including proficiency in Outlook; Word and Excel preferred

    Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Demonstrate clinical skills regarding application of Company policies and procedures such as:  medication administration, symptom management, and patient/family relationships.

 

  • Review and reconcile medication list.

 

  • Accept responsibility and is accountable for nursing actions; demonstrate an understanding of legal consequences of nursing actions; request supervision when needed; perform within the guidelines established by the Florida Nurse Practice Act.

  • Accurately transcribe orders from a paper or electronic document into the system.

  • Contact prescribers or nurses via phone or email to provide information or clarify delivery issues.                

 

  • Use appropriate Company forms with accuracy, timeliness, legibility, professional terminology and awareness of legal and regulatory implications.

 

  • Communicate accurately and completely to staff members, patients, families and supervisors; utilize positive approaches when working with other staff members.

 

  • Pursue own professional growth through attendance at required in-services and other educational offerings.

  • Establish professional goals for self and continually evaluate self in the attainment of these goals.

 

  • Utilize supplies and equipment within the Company philosophy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
