Role:

The Senior Cost Analyst leads the development of Cost Accounting for the Company through the creation of a costing methodology under the direction of the Decision Support & Financial Reporting Director. Responsible for building standard and ad hoc cost reporting as well as providing ad hoc reporting support and creation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with costing concepts or previous experience developing COGS for services rendered
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in Finance and/or Accounting
  • Working knowledge of the General Ledger (GL) and Microsoft Office products (intermediate level in Excel)
  • A background in IT, data warehouse development, or experience working with data cubes is preferred
  • Healthcare provider experience preferred
  • Experience with Power BI, BI 360, Databases/Warehouses/Cubes, Suncoast Solutions, along with Dynamics GL preferred
  • Excellent (written and verbal) communication skills with the ability to explain complex finances to different audiences; strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Detailed-oriented with advanced critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks; ability to successfully work under pressure
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance per Company policyCompetencies:

  • Job Responsibilities:                       

 

  • Analyzes, collects, organizes and disseminates significant amounts of financial and costing complex data with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Primarily responsible for building standard and ad hoc cost reporting.
  • Conducts cost, statistical, economic, or quantitative analyses in support of the Company's decision and planning needs.
  • Develops and manages a variety of cost estimates and analyses.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis for cost improvement initiatives.
  • Provides leadership and direction to IT Data Architects and Programmers in regards to report design, business rules and data specifications.
  • Validates that the script/code written in the data warehouse is pulling data accurately and that the data reconciles with various financial reports and/or the GL.
  • Provides support to the Decision Support team, when needed, especially during the budget process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
